Family sacrifice
I am happy to sit here in a quiet house with the tv in the background and me just sitting here with my thoughts. They wander back and forth between things on tv, to my homework staring back at me saying finish up. I smile because of how lucky I am. I have the most supporting family a guy could ask for. I started my journey a few short months ago with the help of my brother in law. He was looking into going to school and so I said," I should do that!" With a bad back and a loss at what was next to come, I went full bore and filled out my financial aid, looked at my options and waited to see if it really was going to happen. I am now at mid terms and have 3 A's and 1 B. I do spend a lot of time at school working on homework and studying, I devote a lot of time getting up at 4:30 in the morning to finish work due on the same day. I changed my life by devoting my time to a greater cause, My family. My boys and girls ask me every morning where I am going, Have a great day and be good to your friends. It's funny how kids think that I am going to school just like they are. I can see it in their eyes wondering if I get recess or not. I do not. I do struggle on some days when they are all at home or going to itty bitty city for a great time and lots of fun. I really would like to do more with them but I do treasure the time I do get to spend with them. This last weekend I made time to clean the backyard from a long winter. Sergio and Isabelle helped me pick up leaves and throw away trash. They enjoyed it but I loved it. With smiles on all the kids faces I knew I spent the time wisely. They played outside all day Friday and Saturday. At bed time they were fast asleep and I could tell that they appreciated the time I devoted for them. I know spending a lot of time at school is hard at times, but it will be worth it in the long run. I love the fact that in the future I will be able to support my family. I cannot tell my wife that I appreciate what she is doing for me and our family. She gets less sleep than anyone here but yet she finds time to cook, clean, run the kids around where they need to go, wash clothes, take care of the kids scrapes and bruises. She spends time doing homework, getting clothes ready in the morning. What she is and what she does, shows her support for me. I promise my family that I will do everything to make them proud. Thank You Lisa, Kaden, Mason, Isabelle, and Noah. I love you and thank you for your sacrifices.
